Accreditation program to recognize EDI providers that are committed to helping their clients comply with exacting GS1 standards-based retailer shipping label requirements and streamline new supplier onboarding.
Our GS1 Barcode Standards Professional team will perform a thorough review of technical label printing capabilities, instructional material, and support processes. Analysis includes:
- Submission of 3 different GS1-128 shipping labels to demonstrate compliance to retailer specific requirements.
- The $490 fee includes (3) label evaluations based on ISO/IEC 15416 Barcode Print Quality Test Specifications. Providers can optionally purchase additional testing for multiple formats.
- JCPenney requires listed EDI Providers to test both Retail and eCOMM EDI shipping label formats.
- Although Bar Code Graphics has existing portals for JCPenney, Home Depot, and Kohl’s, EDI providers can provide shipping labels for other major retailers or marketplaces (i.e. Amazon).
- Review GS1-128 label printing guidance to ensure clients understand critical printing variables based on solution, and proper SSCC-18 data structure with GS1 Company Prefixes.
- Solution-based support documentation and processes to assist clients experiencing challenges.
EDI Provider GS1-128 Proficiency Recognition is valid for one year renewing January 2027. Renewal WILL NOT require mandatory label testing but a review of current label printing guidance and support documentation/processes. This renewal is necessary to ensure ongoing compliance and trouble-free onboarding of future new suppliers. The cost for annual renewals starting January 2027 will be $230.

Please follow the instructions on the provided survey forms. There will be an overview survey ascertaining the solutions your company provides clients to print GS1-128 shipping labels. This survey and supporting documents can be included with label samples OR emailed to test@barcode.graphics (Include Order ID in the subject). An assigned consultant will be working with your team to facilitate the process.

VERIFICATION REPORTS will be emailed within 3 days of receipt of printed samples in our offices. Please allow 5 business days for a review of all instructions, support documentation and process.
Upon successful accreditation, the retailer will be notified and you may optionally provide us a logo to be added to our program recognition page. A LinkedIn post will also be posted announcing inclusion.
